Who We Are

The Comeback Kid Project, Inc. is a Utah-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit built for one purpose: helping young people rebuild after trauma, foster care, addiction, or hardship. We believe healing happens when you live with integrity, take accountability, and serve others.

Our programs give youth the tools, mentorship, and opportunities to write their own comeback stories. From free community service projects to skill-building workshops and employment pathways, we turn challenges into opportunities for growth and leadership.

Our Mission

We exist to fuel comebacks by:

  • Mentorship – connecting youth with positive role models and life guidance

  • Service – teaching healing through lifting others

  • Skill-Building – providing hands-on training in trades, life skills, and leadership

  • Employment Pathways – helping young people earn money, gain confidence, and step into independence

Our Core ValueS

Integrity

We believe change starts within. Integrity means deciding who you are and living it every day—with honesty, consistency, and purpose.

Accountability

Every comeback begins with ownership. We teach youth to own their choices, learn from mistakes, and take responsibility for the results they create.

Service

Healing happens when you lift others. By serving neighbors, families, and communities, our youth discover purpose, dignity, and the power of giving back

Our Story

The Comeback Kid Project was founded by Michael Walker, a father, nurse, and comeback story himself. After facing personal setbacks, he built CBK as a place where youth could turn pain into power, mistakes into lessons, and service into healing.

From mowing lawns for elderly and widows in Utah neighborhoods to hosting workshops with local tradesmen and mentors, CBK has grown into a movement that restores dignity, builds community, and creates second chances.

Our Impact

  • Youth gain service hours, skills, and income opportunities

  • Communities benefit from free service projects and stronger connections

  • Donors and partners see their support directly fuel youth comebacks

Why It Matters

Every young person deserves a chance to rewrite their story. At CBK, we don’t fix kids—we fuel comebacks.
